In February 2021 during the pandemic, Paul Fix sent a Facebook post out into the universe looking for some whiskey enthusiasts to hang out with and talk all things bourbon in the Sycamore/DeKalb area.  Things were shut down, social events were non-existent, we were wiping down our groceries, and people were masking up whenever they went out.  A couple months later in April, about 25 people decided to buck the trend and come together at Kennay Farms to hangout and meet.  No one knew each other much less what anyone even looked like.  We just knew we liked whiskey and were looking for people to connect with.  The Kennay Family were so kind and welcoming.  After one of Adam’s infamous 3 hour tours, several cocktails, and lots of laughs, the Sycamore Whiskey Club was officially born.

There were a few whiskey clubs around but nothing in the immediate area.  The closest one at the time was on the decline and more of a bourbon hunting club/barrel pick club.  This club was started with a slightly different purpose and mission. 

It’s not what’s in your glass.  It’s about who you share that glass with.  Over time, “There’s always time for whiskey and friends” became our motto. 

Five years later, we’ve grown to over 1000 members, but that’s not what’s important.  It’s the friends we’ve made and the memories we’ve created along the way.

Please join us in making more memories and commemorating our 5th Anniversary at the same location that started it back in 2021.  Cheers to us!

HOW MUCH: It’s Free!!  

WHAT:  There will be pizza provided by Mark Cerny and everyone in attendance will receive a Swag Bag filled with SWC and whiskey-themed goodies.  You must register by April 11th to get a Swag Bag! We will have raffles, barrel give aways, special cocktails, and of course, plenty of bourbon and rye whiskey!
